Our Story

Around the middle of the 19th century, Pietro Clarici began cultivating olive trees on the hills east of Foligno, from Colpersico to the Abbey of Sassovivo. In 1874, he built an oil mill in the historic centre of Foligno and set up a complete olive oil production chain.

His son Domenico joined him at the helm of the company in 1897 and won prizes at all the most important world fairs, including the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900.

Over the years, the Azienda Agraria Clarici oil mill has been constantly updated and is still operating in the historic premises in Via Garibaldi. Only olives picked from the trees owned by our family, now in its sixth generation with brothers Pietro and Maria Elisabetta, are still processed here.

Our Farm

We cultivate 100 hectares of organically farmed olive groves located in the prized Colli Assisi-Spoleto area, the only one in Italy recognized by FAO as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS). The prevailing variety or cultivar is Moraiolo (70%), followed by Frantoio (20%) and Leccino (10%), for a total of over 25,000 trees.

The olives are hand-picked starting from as early as mid-September: this is how the special "Septembris" selection is created, an ultra-early harvest that has made our company unique on the national scene.

The olive oil is cold extracted using the latest technology and within 24 hours of harvesting. On average, we produce no more than 200 quintals of organic extra virgin olive oil per year.

Our Products

We carefully select the three varieties found in our olive groves to create monocultivars and blends to satisfy the most demanding palates. All products are available in 250mL, 500mL and 750mL bottles, and some are also available in 1L and 5L cans.

Clarici Septembris BIO

The very first olive oil of the season, Septembris is the result of a special harvest of unripe olives. Produced in a limited number of bottles.

Clarici Classico BIO

A medium fruity blend of Moraiolo, Frantoio and Leccino. Balanced and versatile, it is also available in large sizes.

Clarici Moraiolo BIO

A monovarietal extra virgin olive oil designed for those who love strong flavours. Perfect for characterising grilled meats and legume soups.
